My husband went to two interviews, a tour of the facility and taken out to lunch. They told him that he would be a great fit, he was the only person to apply for the job and even was given his future boss cell phone number. The job came with double pension, union protected, 100% employer covered health insurance and even a gym within the building. It started at $35 an hour with a chance of making $47 an hour in two years. We thought we had won the lottery after decades of poverty. They said they would get back to him next week with an offer letter. Two weeks later he gets an email saying they went with somebody else. A total of a month of hoping for a better life and now back to reality.

"Do people wake up everyday and want to work in a dynamic fast-paced environment?" That's the gag...the crying over the lack of a job we truly know we will hate anyway. 😫

I wake up to like 10 rejection emails since I apply to 100 places a week. Coming up on 12 months now. 12 years of senior niche experience.

I have been through layoffs multiple times. Each time life (GOD) was working on me to prepare me for the next thing. Being 56 it is easy for me to see that now. Not sure what you believe, but I prayed for GOD to make it clear what it is I am to learn during this trial. So that I may lean into it and be ready for what is to come. Each time it has been better than where I came from. Hope this helps.

I’m in the exact same boat. It is almost worse to go through the whole process and get rejected. I have had over 60+ interviews multiple rounds. It makes you question your value and it is awful.

They’re not giving the other candidates the job either because the same job is posted again two months later

I decided to change careers because my job search was going no where. It feels better to be working towards something rather than against something that was making me.so miserable. Took me getting laid off a second time within 3 years to figure that out.

I got laid off over a year ago. I'm waiting tables with an MBA. It really sucks.

I was unemployed in SD for an entire year. So demoralizing. The rejection emails crushed me. Wishing you the best. I’m now working a job I LOVE.

The problem there are 100’s of people competing for the same job. It’s a corporate version of the hunger games. It’s horrible.

My daughter is struggling also and I’m so curious as to what’s happening in job market. Is there just too many candidates and not enough jobs?? She gets interviews but can’t close the deal 😞

4 interview rounds. Microsoft interview. Then the virtual question and answer… in-person … just to be rejected. It’s a lot for $25/ hr. What happened to a one interview & hire. A lot of times spent with the interviews. I’m talking months.

I got a rejection email for a job within an hour and a half of applying today and I was qualified for it. I completely feel you, struggling over here too. 😩

Find what you love. Then go ALL in. You were not meant to be in the corporate world inside an office pleasing the shareholders. Find ONE thing that lights up your soul and go there. Be it baking, yoga, dog walking etc., Redirection is God's protection. I know this for a fact.

I have lost my job multiple times. 💯 empathize. It sucks, and it wears even the “strongest.” My unsolicited advice is to solely focus on networking. LinkedIn is a black hole. Next, keep taking care of yourself (gym). Make extra efforts to portray your value vs frustration. I struggled with this, but realized it was indirectly limiting my progress. You’ve got this!

It’s not you. It’s luck. I was hired a year ago after completing over 300 applications in 5 months. I’m grateful to be working, however I’m earning a salary that’s lower than what I was earning 25 years ago. Our government could create a better job market, but they don’t care about us, so they don’t.

I am going through the same thing , I lost my job in April due to my position being eliminated due to restructuring after 24 years at the company. Two of my coworkers were laid off too and started new jobs two weeks ago …, but I am still looking and constantly either getting rejected or ghosted. I am thinking and feeling the very same thing that you are … about myself.

I’m on my 20th consecutive month without work. Before that, I had a job for 4 months. Before that, I was out of work for 18 months. I have 15 years of senior leadership experience and haven’t gotten a reply on an application in over a year. It’s NOT YOU. It’s this shitfaced country we live in.
