My bees LOVEE LOVE my chive blossoms! I bought a little starter plant years ago and just left it. She comes back every year bigger and better- with VERY minimal work💞

In college (2018) my dorm did a random herb seed starting event, I decided to try the chive seeds, planted them in a little container then brought them from my college in PA back down home to NC, my mom put the little seedlings in a pot and they still thrive every year to this day!

My chives were established from the previous owner of my house! I don’t have to do ANYTHING to them, they just keep coming back full throttle! I love them 🥰

Mine gave me ONE chive blossom this year lol 😂 I grew them from seed and it’s only their second year so I wasn’t sure if I’d get any anyways

I’ve had great luck starting seeds in milk jugs! Cut the top half mostly off and bend it back. Add soil and about 1/2 pack of seeds per jug. Water well and use tape to hold the lid back on. Once they’re about 6” tall I divide that jug into 4 plugs and plant them in the garden!

I love how everything that is supposed to be easy I struggle with and everything hard flourishes in garden. I Got chives to grow from seed my first year. But I couldn’t tell you how I did it 🥰

My chives are blooming like crazy. But carpenter beetles move in in droves before I can ever harvest the flowers and it makes me so sad!
