@that.hbbgirl: One quiet night in Zaki Biam, Benue State, at 2am, I kept rolling in my bed, unable to continue sleeping. I was itching all over from what I didn't understand. I had had a small misunderstanding with a child's parent at the school where I taught primary 3 students. And the man, a farmer skilled with cutlasses and hoes, had looked at me with pitiful eyes, like he had decided to show me just the tip of the iceberg of what he could do to me. The small town that had become dear to me far away from home was beginning to show its true colors, and by midnight, I was dealing with the consequences. It was not news that kidnappers were kidnapping people in the area, from the yam market to the boundary that separated the small town from Vandekya, collecting ransom for some, and yet killing them in cold blood such that all that was left for the loved ones was the cold lifeless body in the morning. And the few that survived it, would share their testimony of all their eyes saw at the kidnappers den. I knew I shouldn't have fought with him about his son Surshater but I still did. As I turned in different angles on the bed, my thoughts roamed and I imagined myself back at home, while my hand wandered to my head and felt something sticky, like almost dried blood. I almost screamed but feared waking people up. My heart was pounding hard, I reached again and my fingers felt around it and noticed that the sticky stuff was all over my head. I had to steady myself for the worst. Slowly, I peeled off the first one. It was strange looking dark yellow, like grease that was trying hard to harden up. And I was itching badly all over. Apparently, I was getting the worst punishment ever for thinking of this town as mine. When I got to the chemist early in the morning , I got a big shocker... Someone was diagnosing Psoriasis, another was saying seborrheic dermatitis. All these were jargons I had to start looking up on Google after I had paid for expensive medication combinations, and the moment I stopped using them, the sticky flaky stuff on my head returned, I itched all over badly, day or night, in the midst of many people or alone. Imagine crossing a major road and having to scratch your itchy head while running. I did 🥹😭 So, as founder of HBB Botanica today, if I tell you that your water is the first culprit of whatever scalp issues you have, don't argue with me. It was not Surshater's Daddy that asked me to use the surface-level well water that the dirty gutter water flowed into to wash my hair. This here is the backstory that birthed HBB Botanica, a scalp focused herbal haircare brand that reseted my scalp so I no longer have to loosen my hair one week after because it now looks 3-month old. I delivered some full sets of herbal haircare products today in Ibadan and it was fulfilling, seeing what a sleepless night in Benue State turned into. Only a few units of the set are available 💯 DM me for yours now while stocks last. #brandstorytelling #motivationforentrepreneurs #lifesjourney #scalpcareibadan #hbbbotanica
