Another challenge is quality control. Many suppliers can provide an amazing sample order, but once you begin placing larger wholesale orders, consistency often becomes the biggest issue. As demand increases, some suppliers rush production or attempt to fulfill orders with whatever inventory they have available. This can lead to fillers, swept hair, mixed batches, or lower-quality extensions being substituted without your knowledge just to complete the order. This is exactly why supplier testing is one of the most important investments you can make as a hair business owner. Over the past several years, I’ve tested nearly 100 hair suppliers and hair collectors, and one thing I’ve learned is that you should never rely on a single supplier. In every one of my personally tested Vendor Lists, I always recommend having one primary supplier and one reliable backup supplier. That way, if inventory changes, quality drops, or your main supplier cannot fulfill an order, your business isn’t forced to stop. Consistency is far more valuable than finding one “perfect” supplier.
