Mr krabs is really a tragic character If you dive into his backstory, he’s canonically a war veteran having served in the navy and was extremely poor as a child, also he associates money with survival and security and treats spending as a bad thing as if it means returning to instability, the scarcity mindset basically drove him to obsession over money
