that QR for food 🤯 In the UK a train from my home town in north Wales to South Wales will take 5 hours !!! that's 172 miles or 267km 😫 with a 3 year old and a grumpy teenager it feels more like 12 hours 😂

On February 16, 2026 , one day before the Chinese new year, I got back home in Canada from a 45 days trip to South, Central and East China. Throughout my trip there, I took many train rides and many, many subway rides. There was not even one delay during that month and a half of travel. The train / subway cars were always clean. Walking out on the street, day and night, I always felt very safe. The transportation, food and accommodations were very affordable. I will certainly visit China again. I admire its people and government. The USA's main problem is that it allows rich individuals and corporations to practically dictate to the government to create policies that benefit them, rather than the common people and, as a result, the USA government does not see as a priority the improvement of its citizens' quality of life and well-being.

Swivel seats are fantastic. I hate being pulled backwards on a train. I can get a little motion sick. Chicago Metra the seats flip; CTA seats are fixed but direction faced varies. Riding facing opposite the direction of motion is unpleasant.
