still ends up with the main problem that generative AI has of regurgitating common sense. the selection of movies might be wide but if you're going by "vibes" the movies you're getting recomended are the same 100 or so films that have corroded away film discourse into the same old same old. if you want a tool to discover cinema that challenges your tastes and helps you discover new cultures and styles, you'll need a list curated by someone who's an authority on the topic and far more shapped by thier individual experiences with the medium.

I love AI embeddings! They have geniounely millions of applications! I made embeddings with mistral to catalog my whole 40k song library into buckets such as slow going, fast, calm, chill morning, et cetera. I used a several audio processing libraries to find this info about them.

most streaming platforms already do this and their recommendations are bad (not good enough for me at least) for two reasons: 1. they promote their own shit 2. the same problem you have here, but not sure they could be using something else: the user reviews are not extensive/in-depth enough to capture how a movie actually feels, they're just superficial descriptions. for example the hail Mary project is definitely not a high-concept sci-fi, it's barely sci-fi at all even though it is in a sci-fi setting.
