when my hard wired smoke detector wouldnt stop going off, I learned the doorbell was used to power it and had to change some random $5 part between the two. took months to sort out.

We dealt with a similar issue at my MILs house. Hardwired system of fire alarms, and one particular alarm would cause them to alarm when it was connected to the wires. They were all the same model #. But it turns out that she had bought most of them in one batch from Home Depot, then realized she needed another, so bought it from a different store. As it turns out, these units weren't getting along because they were from different batches, essentially - like somehow maybe there was a different frequency setting. She ditched the offending unit, got a replacement from the same store where she'd bought everything else, hooked it up, and it worked perfect.

Was it dust in the alarm? We had one that wouldn’t stop going off and when I finally tried blowing in it a bunch of dust flew out and it’s been fine since.

Non looking the part, licensed electrician here lol This is a hard wiring issue. The alarm has to be connected to an obscure source. The line needs to be traced to its origin if you’re going to solve the problem. Hope that helps. 💁🏻♀️

Electrician here- try googling the brand name for certified technicians in your area or a dedicated fire alarm company. Fire alarm brands contract with specific contractors, but if it’s older/ brand doesn’t exist anymore they can help you source a replacement. Most electricians don’t practice fire alarm unless they’re specialized bec it’s considered low voltage. (Low voltage= data technician, medium voltage= electrician, high voltage= lineman)

my smoke alarm goes off when there is drywall dust in the air. perhaps the drywall from your ceiling is dusting into your alarm and that's causing it to freak out. Just an idea. I hope you find the solution.

Check to make sure it is the same brand as the others in the house, make sure when u take batteries out u discharge (take the batteries out hold the test button for 10 seconds) if that doesn’t work it may have a fault in it so it just needs to be changed out just make sure u buy the same brand cause different brands don’t communicate with each other and will cause that.

I’m on the west coast of Canada, and had the exact. Same. Problem. Hardwired fire alarms going off at 3 am when everyone is asleep and at 2 pm when no one was near a kitchen, had the batteries replaced, replaced the breaker, replaced the alarms.

Ive had to use whatever specific battery is listed into the battery cover. I tried a couple different brands and it stopped beeping once the specific brand/type was put it. very odd
