We grew up poor as hell. I never ate like that. Was it always the best? Hell no. Eating on a budget you have to get creative. But my mom still always made sure to make it as well rounded of a meal as possible.

Don't defend her - No one is saying you have to spend hours cooking. Frozen vegetables, meat, potatoes, rice, and other simple foods can be ready with almost no effort. There's a huge difference between convenience food and feeding your kids mostly nuggets, fries, and breaded junk.

Tell me you aren’t a parent without telling me you aren’t a parent. I’m a full time working single mom with two teen boys in multiple evening extracurriculars. We are lucky if we have ten minutes to spare most evenings after I’m done with work and before we leave the house and not returning until 9:30/10pm. My boys are eating boxed Mac and cheese tonight 🤷♀️It’s what we had time for. Tomorrow it’ll likely be takeout. Wednesday - a day where we actually have maybe an hour at home before the evening rush - they’ll get something homemade. It is what it is 🤷♀️And I’m a pretty damn good mom if I do say so myself. 😘
