KAMI!!! Kami was the drummer of the legendary Japanese visual kei band Malice Mizer from 1993 to 1999. His real name was Ukyo Kamimura, and he was born on February 1, 1972, in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan. He joined the band after the first drummer, Gaz, left in 1993. Interestingly, he initially wanted to play guitar, but in high school he returned to drums, and his mentor was Sakura, the future drummer of L'Arc-en-Ciel. His debut work with Malice Mizer was the album Memoire. Kami was considered one of the best drummers of his time. Shinya from Dir En Grey even called him one of the three greatest Japanese drummers. He was known for his dedication to music and physical training — he played tennis daily and practiced drums for hours. His signature symbol became the butterfly: he wore butterfly-shaped rings and had butterflies painted on his drum kit. The tragedy occurred on June 21, 1999, when Kami died in his sleep from a subarachnoid hemorrhage at the age of 27. His body was discovered only four days later, and the funeral was held the same day. After his death, Malice Mizer released the EP Shinwa, which included songs Kami had composed during his lifetime. #v系 #visualkei #vkei #malicemizer #kami #fyp #meme
