As a teacher, I can say that he was likely offended because our job is incredibly difficult and many people think that it’s easy or cute when in reality it’s super challenging and complex and we are very under appreciated. I’m sure I’ll get hate on this comment but that’s my 2 cents.

I know you probably didn’t mean offense when responding that it was cute being a teacher to that age group. But typically it’s rude to call someone’s career cute when being a teacher is under appreciated and underpaid. Teachers get this comment a lot and it’s frustrating. And I think with texting there is always a communication issue and it’s better to ask the person directly if you’ve offended them and move on. Coming from a k-12 teacher ❤️all love

Jez honestly, I think you're offside here. Nobody is going to respond positively to someone calling their profession "cute". Although you didn't intend it. calling his teaching position "cute" diminished it. You would call a new outfit/purse/shoes "cute" but a professional? Naw. I'd be pissed too. It was an unfortunate choice of words.
