His charm and confidence allow him to gather followers who believe in his vision completely. At first, Griffith appears heroic. He leads the Band of the Hawk to countless victories and gains the admiration of nobles and soldiers alike. However, beneath his calm and graceful appearance lies a deeply controlling and emotionally distant personality. Griffith views human relationships differently from others, often treating people as pieces in the pursuit of his dream. The turning point of his story comes after Guts leaves the Band of the Hawk. Griffith, unable to emotionally handle the loss, makes reckless decisions that lead to his imprisonment and torture. When he is finally rescued, he is physically destroyed and unable to pursue his ambitions. In despair, he activates the Crimson Beherit during the horrific event known as the Eclipse. During the Eclipse, Griffith sacrifices the Band of the Hawk to the God Hand in exchange for rebirth as Femto, a demonic member of the God Hand. This transformation marks one of the darkest moments in manga history.
