The blowdown contains concentrated levels of chemicals: corrosion inhibitors, biocides, scale reducers. When it reaches local waterways or percolates enter groundwater, those compounds go with it Rural communities feel this hardest. You’re often downstream from a facility that has more legal and financial resources than your entire county. Local water, treatment, infrastructure, built for agricultural runoff, was never designed to filter, synthetic biocides or heavy metal concentrations that come from industrial discharge Some residents near data center clusters have reported elevated levels of chromium, copper, and conductivity markers in their well water. Local aquifers take the hit silently, for years, before anyone notices. So what can you do? ✅ Get your water tested 👉 not the basic tap test, a comprehensive panel, including heavy metal metals, conductivity, total dissolved, solids, and emerging contaminants. Know your baseline before things get worse. ✅Filter your water 👉 reverse osmosis systems give you the best bet of removing the most contaminants, though you will need to mineralize it afterwards with something like @tracemineralsresearch.
