One small change makes being on top feel completely different, and your knees finally stop paying the whole price for it. Because let's name the real reason it so often turns into a countdown instead of a moment. Half the time "it's uncomfortable" has nothing to do with you, or him, or desire. It's the setup. Knees jammed flat into the mattress, your entire weight balanced on two small joints that were never designed to carry it. Of course your body starts bracing. Of course your head leaves the room to manage the ache. Here's the fix, and it's almost annoyingly simple. 1. Put something soft under your knees. A folded blanket, a pillow, the edge of the duvet. Take the joints out of the equation. 2. Change the direction of the motion. Stop pushing straight up-and-down, which loads everything onto the knees and thighs, and shift to rocking gently forward-and-back. Less strain on the joints, and, not by accident, far more contact exactly where it actually matters for you. Comfort isn't a side detail to good s##. It's the whole doorway into it. When your body isn't busy fighting pain, you can finally stay present. And presence, being all the way there instead of half-managing discomfort, is the real reason anything starts to feel ten times better. It was never a trick or a technique. It was your attention, freed up. So try it. Change the surface, change the motion, and notice how much of the "problem" was just bad ergonomics masquerading as low desire. And then stop apologizing for needing it to feel good. Wanting comfort isn't high-maintenance. It's the bare minimum for actually enjoying your own body. ... Small adjustments change more than any advanced move ever will.
