@yangxiang888: China's wealthy usually don't perform it in a way Mexico's do. BYD's CEO takes the subway on a Monday evening. Huawei's founder carries his own bag at the airport. JD.com's billionaire eats street food after work — on a regular Tuesday. In China, that's not a PR move. That's just normal. Then I moved to Mexico. Suddenly, which colonia your office is in matters. What you drive to a first meeting matters. Which restaurant you pick for lunch — matters. Class here isn't just economic. It's physical. It's visible before the conversation even starts. And Chinese companies entering Mexico bring China's relationship with wealth with them. Which means they're reading the room completely wrong before they even sit down. That's what this video is about — and why it matters if you're trying to work with them. Follow for more on what Chinese companies actually see when they look at Mexico 🇨🇳🇲🇽 Have you ever watched a Chinese business contact completely miss a social signal that felt obvious to you? #ChinaMexico #ChineseBusiness #MexicoBusiness #Nearshoring #CrossCultural
As an American-Mexican, this is so true. And its unfortunate that there is so much emphasis on trying to "look" rich, to the point where middle and lower class in Mexico(also in US) equate designer brands with wealth, wearing fake designer to have the look, shopping at certain plazas because its where the rich shop at.

The Evil Dr Onionhead :
No bro. That's not the reason.
China’s super-rich have strong incentives to display wealth more discreetly inside China because conspicuous wealth can attract political, regulatory, social, and online scrutiny under Xi Jinping’s “common prosperity” environment.

In China’s state led system, billionaire CEOs often face political pressure to avoid excessive public displays of wealth and can face government scrutiny if they become too publicly influential.

Culture influences the way people behave. I don’t think his intention is to hate on Mexico. This is not a capitalism vs communism debate afterall there’s social stratification in all societies but the extent varies according to the prevailing culture.
