@manuatele2421: Have you heard the story of Paikea the Whale Rider? Across the Moana, there are many stories that have been transferred from generation to generation describing both literal and metaphorical events. Sonny speaks to both these elements in how our ancestors would find islands. Stories are another way in which we find connections across groups. Which is what we’ll be talking about tomorrow night! We’re looking forward to gathering with our local community at Pō Talanoa Autumn — Tangata Whenua & Tangata Moana. #polynesian #pacificislanders
According to Mauke (Cook Islands) oral history, Paikea, once known as Kahutia-te-rangi, survived a deadly storm after being swept out to sea and drifting all the way to Mangaia clinging to debris. Back in Mauke, his wife Kea waited daily on the cliffs of Araiti Cove for his return, watching the ocean until she died of heartbreak and longing.

Humans have the ability to communicate with whales, this was proven when a marine park worker discovered the whale were telling him things, he took scientist to a random beach and called them in and they came… Dolphins are the same, amazing story
