Something my therapist taught me is about learning to develop the ability to control the effect your thoughts have. Catch urself the moment BEFORE the negative thoughts hit. Immediately change to a different thought or comforting activity (like a chill but fun game or a hobby or tv). The longer you allow that bad feeling to sit there, the more power it takes from you and the more it develops a voice. While you cannot control what thoughts pop up, there is control in knowing when you are ABOUT to start feeling negative thoughts and stopping it before it even starts. As you work on this, your ability to control your thoughts will develop more and more. If you just give in to the negative feeling (like I was) it will be a million times harder to get out of, so stopping it before it starts is essential. Saying in case this can help even one person🩷🩷🩷🩷
