I’m jaded nowadays and unlearning everything I know to be “soft” or “acceptable” to society is more painful. So I don’t. I just keep moving forward into my next lesson.

I am yet to meet a person who is as composed as u are. Thank u sir you are absolutely right! I never choose to be always on survival mode but I was made to be after countless betrayals

We've been taught to turn our fears into courage, our weakness into strength and guard precious memories, the little joys and peaceful moments...Pain makes us more cautious and a bit detached from collective emotions. Pain is not healing, but the sad and unwanted experience, which teaches us how to survive, how not to collapse and give in, once we've overcome unexpected hardships. Pain (sometimes a combination of nostalgia and regrets) is admitting that life is not just childhood's chocolate, still it constantly reveals its beauty and wonders in the absence of innocence. It's inevitable, a one-way street process, as we're going through different stages. No one and nothing could steal your inner core, that unique sparkle, which bonds heart-brain challenges- that sparkle stays your best friend over time, so that you shouldn't forget who you really are✌️

yes buuuut through those struggles i also gained perspective. so while i can’t say i’m grateful for the pain, i AM grateful for having new appreciation and perspective that i wouldn’t have had otherwise. i am able to see beauty in the small mundane things other people can’t. or being able to slow down while others can’t.

I always say “I love the person I am today because I had to fight to become her.” That addition reminds me of what I’ve gone through to get to the peace I have today. Is it all good, no, but it’s better than the low parts and I’m happy with who I am. I’m at peace at the life I have and understand that I survived things that no one knows about. I’m still working on me but I’m at peace with the past and know the struggle was hard and I made it through.

You tell my story so accurately with words I can only feel but you articulate so eloquently. You cause me to pause and sip. And sip some more.

I hear you. I also do love the person I have become - especially because I survived pain. I wouldn't change anything about my process thus far.
Acceptance leads to peace and in peace love grows, this overshadows all that hurt us.

so true. I always say I like myself. I hear you're supposed to love yourself. I love parts of me. not striving for perfection.

I don’t think the point is that growth is a “want” growth is a need/necessary! That’s the point! Life isn’t about what we want! If it was nothing would exist as it does!
