According to police, Hill had just arrived for his shift when he intervened in a confrontation in the plant’s parking lot between suspect Wendell Lane Champion Jr. and Champion’s wife. Authorities say Champion sht and kiled Hill, then seriously wounded his wife before dying by suiide.
