Different breeds of chickens lay different colors, nothing to do with ears, can get blue eggs also

The earlobe thing isn’t exactly true. Egg color is determined by the breed of chicken. Sometimes the earlobes match, sometimes they don’t. The rest about white leghorns being efficient layers was correct. Most chicken breeds lay brown eggs but some lay blue or even green if they have a both blue and brown genes. It’s a lot like eye color genetics.
