ok this isn’t me hating bc I LOVE the show but.. the hands off law wasn’t necessarily abt control but bc Garrett trusted and knew that Hannah was feeling off about their relationship so he was simply just protecting her from her lie abt wanted to branch out.

I think the hockey team starting it as a rumor was actually so much funnier. Like that whole team knows how Garret is and knows Hannah is so good for him so of course they’re going to defend their girl and get her back with him.

In the book it worked because Garrett didn’t know why she broke up with him, he just knew she was lying about the reason and didn’t want her to make a mistake being with someone else when he believed they were getting back together. That reason wouldn’t work with this break up so made sense to change it
