I think the hockey team starting it as a rumor was actually so much funnier. Like that whole team knows how Garret is and knows Hannah is so good for him so of course they’re going to defend their girl and get her back with him.

He’s 100% right bc the whole point of his character in the show is that he doesn’t want to be known as controlling and scary so if he did create the hands off law he would be going against everything he wants to become

In the book it worked because Garrett didn’t know why she broke up with him, he just knew she was lying about the reason and didn’t want her to make a mistake being with someone else when he believed they were getting back together. That reason wouldn’t work with this break up so made sense to change it

I adored that they changed it, they didnt let Garret take posession over Hannahs atonomy. Seeing how it in some way has the same dynamic as Hannahs trauma, someone taking control over her atonomy. I fkn adore this version
