Your maths pretty good but i prefer quick logic. It’s a lot easier to think of it as 1 person being right handed. You want the left handed people to be 98% meaning you want that 1 person to be worth 2% the only case where 1 can equal 2% it’s if the total is 50

What I did: 99 people are left handed so 1 person is right handed, which means for 98% of people to be left handed, 2% of people need to be right handed, which is 1 person. So 1 person = 2%, so 2 times 50 is 100, which means there needs to be 50 people in the room for 2% to equal 1 person. 99 - 50 = 49, plus that one right handed person is 50 :D

easiest way to look at it: if 98% needs to be left then 2% has to be right. simply we would need 2 right handed people and 98 left handed, but since we only have 1, you should just divide both by 2 which makes 1 and 49. then 1 person makes up 2% of the room meaning indeed 50 left handed have to leave
