@perrinemiroff: Yeah, it’s only May, but I don’t care. Inde Navarrette’s work in Obsession will be one of my favorite performances of 2026. I’ve seen the film five times now, but my jaw still hits the floor every single time I see the acting gymnastics Inde pulls off when playing what the One Wish Willow does to Nikki. Catch our full Ladies Night convo on the Collider Ladies Night YouTube channel now for SO much more about her journey to the film, the toughest scenes to shoot, and to hear about Obsession’s original ending! #obsession #indenavarrette #interview #horror #acting
Well when he’s on the phone and the guy says “you wanna talk to her” & we hear Nikki screaming that made me think the real Nikki was like trapped somewhere else

This is very “Get Out” I hope Jordan Peele sees this. He and Curry could do some great stuff together.

This is my exact question! It plays into how unsettling the film feels for the viewer, is Nikki just watching with no autonomy ? Is she off in a hell environment suffering ? I think the having no autonomy but being present is the most unsettling, also when the other Nikki said “I don’t like my dreams” I feel like entity is talking about fighting off the real Nikki who is trying to break through, she does a few times in the beginning but the entity just gets more unhinged

Her performance in this movie is both award worthy and star making. I really hope she’s recognized for it

I love how the spell did not happened slowly like in other movies. As soon as Bear snaps the willow, she immediately stops in her tracks, turns around and stares at him while thinking “I love him, I need him NOW”

There's a moment when she's sleeping that hints at possession of some kind

so basically this is telling me that the one wish willow doesn’t sound like a total plot hole as far as people making wishes bc possibly a lot of people are under love spells they just don’t have or lose the urge to fight it off

I love how he gives them autonomy to have their own theories about the film!

Great character work on her part! I also felt as if the wish entity itself became more sentient as the film went on. Kind of like a dark phoenix saga type situation. Where initially the entity was just doing its job but as time went on grew to like it so much that any questioning of its not doing its job or not being loved is what triggered all the meltdowns and freakouts.

Aaaah. I liked the movie so much. But if you did this like if was an intrusive thought, a think which was put into your mind by someone else. That would’ve been 1000/10

Fernando Valadez :
My whole thought was there wasn't an entity taking over her. Instead, it removed Nikki's self-autonomy and gave her body/mind their own autonomy, with a programmed task. This, to me, also explains why the "emotions/feelings" weren't regulated because the program doesn't know how to regulate those things. There was no entity, just a shell doing things while Nikki tried to fight for control.

Yes! I think the real Nikki was fighting the entire time. I think this is proven when during the bed scene where Bear leaves to meet Sarah she doesn't scream, but tries calmly asking Bear to kill her and just end it. Because the screaming quickly brings the possessor back into control

I thought on the tv that we were seeing from her perspective of Nicky being trapped in her body doing stuff with bear and that she is out of her body casting her mind of what is going on with her in the tv
