This year we are partial empty nesters with both kids off to college and let me tell you we’ve been doing the happy dance!!! We miss them too but we’ve gotten a taste of what life was like without kids and remember what fun we had when it was just us. We love our kids! I love my wife! And I’m getting to enjoy her all over again without the kids chaos, a little wiser, a little better off financially. It’s really good!!!

Absolutely. Just because you become parents doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy life and do things as a couple anymore. It’s okay to love your kids deeply, but still need time away sometimes. That’s not neglect. That’s love because it says “I want to be the best version of myself for others”. And to take that time with your spouse or partner builds and restores more than we realize or think.

Amen!! Love the kids to death and the grandkids to death and back fifty times over…. However, the Anniversary trip my husband and I just took alone. For an entire week! Was the most relaxing and enjoyable trip! We have had amazing family vacations for sure, but this was the most relaxing trip!

My husband and I took our first trip just the two of us last summer and we’ve been married almost 20 years! We realized on that trip that the two of us were never the problem on past vacations 😂
