I know a knight who did pushups at the Q&A section of a tournament in full jousting armour to show off how much mobility you actually have in properly fitted armour. 😅 props to him, most people can't do that many with no extra weight

honestly I feel you're falling into the trap of anachronism/ pop culture all armour makes a trade off between mobility and protection and is designed to balance the two as much as possible (with the exception of hyper specific sets designed for specific purposes/roles)

I gotta say, one thing lotr trilogy ruined for me is armor, I prefer when characters dress like Aragorn which I know isn't practical and also more shows/anime/movies prefer putting their characters into armor
