He truly grasped the power of liberalism and the way it dictated people’s lives, how they react to everything in such an exaggerated manner. He fully understood how words completely take over the mind and block any sense of rational logic, or reasoning. People really do go into a delirium when they hear certain words. Words are truly spells on the mind, if you let them.

Oddly enough, this is very similar to what Gregory Hesse said about his priesthood while trying to defend his ordination. He knew the 1968 Rites of Ordination and Episcopal Consecration were doubtful, so he asked Abp. Lefebvre whether he should be conditionally ordained. At that time, Abp. Lefebvre had gone back and forth on this issue, but concluded that it was valid because the ordination was done in the New Rite by a Bishop consecrated in the Old Rite. Bp. Williamson held the same position. Others doubted it, partially due to Abp. Lefebvre's own writings on a defect of intention from Vatican II theology even aside from a defect of form, which matches the defects condemned by Apostolicae Curae. Hesse then said that no one should say he wasn't a priest, because sometimes a man could "feel his priesthood." He also claimed that he could play a trick on the Lord by turning the glass of white wine he was drinking into the blood of Christ without the other elements or the Canon of the Mass, which is entirely doubtful according to other Traditional clergy citing Trent. Hesse definitely knew how to feel.
