@sister..crystal: Bread and Butter Pudding 🥰 Ingredients For the pudding: 500g brioche 60g soft butter 5 large eggs 700ml whole milk 300ml double cream 120g soft light brown sugar Seeds of half a vanilla pod 1½ tsp ground cardamom ½ tsp cinnamon Small pinch salt Small pinch saffron strands 1 tbsp warm milk (for saffron) 150g Medjool dates, chopped 75g pistachios, roughly chopped Honey syrup: 4 tbsp honey 2 tbsp water Small squeeze lemon juice Method: 1. Infuse the saffron Put the saffron strands into 1 tbsp warm milk and leave aside. 2. Prepare the brioche: Slice brioche thickly. Butter both sides lightly. Cut into triangles or chunks. Slightly stale brioche is even better because it absorbs more custard. 3. Make the custard: Whisk together: Eggs Milk Cream Sugar Vanilla Cardamom Cinnamon Salt Saffron milk 4. Assemble: Butter a baking dish. Layer in half the brioche. Scatter over half the dates and pistachios. Repeat with remaining brioche and fillings. Pour the custard slowly over everything. Press gently so the brioche absorbs it. Leave for 20 to 30 minutes if possible. 5. Bake: Bake at: 170°C fan For: 35 to 45 minutes It should be: deeply golden slightly crisp on top soft and custardy underneath 6. Make the honey syrup: Warm together: Honey Water Lemon juice Do not boil. Brush or drizzle over the pudding as soon as it comes out of the oven. 7. Finish: Scatter over extra pistachios and a tiny pinch of flaky salt. Serve warm #dessert #pudding #britishfood #halal #fyp

I have two apple trees in my garden, we encourage all the neighbours to pick it dry, my Iranian neighbour has made me apple bread a few times from our spoils! My Jamaican neighbour has also made me banana bread like you say we all have our ways to make our little bounties and it always tastes better when we share it with each other! 👏🥰
