I hate that this movie adds to the stigma that the victim or the innocent individual in a situation needs to be the bigger person. It’s so weird that Marnie’s family and Joanna’s aunt all believed Marnie needed to let go of the past and be okay without an apology from Joanna even though she caused her so much pain in her most influential years and was marrying Marnie’s brother. It’s not just about what is right, but also respect.
