@22_kels: The Dominican Republic has the right to control its border. But with nearly 380,000 Haitians deported in one year, the question becomes bigger, when does enforcement turn into a humanitarian crisis? #DominicanRepublic #Haiti #Migration #Caribbean #HumanRights Source: • DGM Official Report • DGM 2026 Update • IOM Data • UN/IOM Statement

Haiti needs to take care of itself. How long will other countries have to be burdened with the migration of Haitians because they can't get their act together? They claim to have ended slavery for all the black countries in the Caribbean but cannot deal with their own internal issues...after all these years? The Haitian leaders will never stop the migration of its people because it makes money for their country without them having to lift a finger. The funds sent back to Haiti from migrants working in other countries are in the billions. They don't have to find labour for their citizens. They're lazy leaders.

DR shouldn’t have to take in half a million people, specially when doing so puts your country and people in danger and destabilizes an already developing country. That being said the UN should intervene and create safe heavens inside Haiti with Dominican help so that they can have places safe from gangs and with economic opportunities. The issue is that the UN is no longer trusted since last time several peacekeepers where proven to have sexually assaulted Haitian girls as young as 12 years old. The people have to consent to international intervention and not doing so does not give them the free pass to flood into their neighboring country.

Severe gang wars and territorial violence have completely overwhelmed major urban areas and transit hubs across Haiti, including Port-au-Prince, Carrefour, Delmas, Cité Soleil, Tabarre, Croix-des-Bouquets, Gonaïves, Petite Rivière de l'Artibonite, and Saint-Marc. A Humanitarian Crisis needs to be preached over there with there FYP, not ours, so respectfully unless USA, takes control or France over there issues, then we’ll talk until then, I don’t wanna hear the entitlement coming from people that don’t fuck with us.

Supporting Haitians inside the Dominican Republic is just putting a temporary bandage on a much larger crisis. It is hypocritical to blame the Dominican Republic for simply protecting its borders. Trying to force the DR to take responsibility for Haiti and its citizens is both unrealistic and unfair. People completely ignore the rights of Dominican citizens. Where are they supposed to go? Should Dominicans just hand their country over? Instead of pointing fingers and talking, the international community and the Haitian diaspora need to take real action. If people truly want to help Haitians, they need to come together and fix the crisis inside Haiti itself. Right now, it is all talk and no action.

Each country has its own laws, no one is above the law, the Dominican Republic is the only country that has helped Haiti more than any county this country consumes its budget on health and education and the only benefit it obtains is that personnel are making this type of negative documentary about the Dominican Republic. Our immigration policy is better than those of the United States, France, Mexico, Chile, and no one says anything.

I would like to know why the problems of one country, its corruption and mismanagement, have to do with another country? Each country has its own problems, and if a country is solving its own problems, why does it have to bear those of others...
