@playroom_parenting: Can a little brain stimulation device genuinely lift my mood and make me more hopeful and engaged in life? I had to find out. | AD Here are the three reasons I decided to try it: As a neuroscientist, I already understood the evidence for the efficacy of this type of brain stimulation and how it works. I’ve struggled with chronic low mood for most of my life, which hasn't been easily managed with lifestyle changes or medication. I saw the randomized control trial evidence showing a 77% reported improvement in depressive symptoms. I had to see the results for myself! The stimulation works by altering the cortical excitability of the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC). I like to imagine the brain as an elaborate train network: if one key station (or brain node) is running slow, it affects every connected station and network. TCDS focuses on making that station more efficient, which allows all the networks it sits in to function better. The best part? The effect is long-lasting; you are actually making the brain work better long-term, not just while stimulating the region. #brainstimulation #mood #depressive #neuroscience @Flow Neuroscience
Hello, would this work for when you feel more depressed or numb when doing something you used to enjoy doing before depression? I feel depressed on the daily, but when going shopping or doing something I used to enjoy when I was younger, I feel even worse

I was part of the TMS trails which is very similar to this. I purchased one of these and I can honestly recommend it.

Mine started out as anxiety and pmdd but it’s gone on for so long I think it’s tipping into depression now, tried multiple ssri which only make me terribly ill, and completed HICBT considering giving this a go it’s just so expensive 🫠

But do you go back to how you were feeling before after you stop using it for example for 3 months?

Your analogy really helped me to understand how this might work for me. Is the headset enough on its own or do I also need to sleep more, exercise, not use my phone etc etc and all the other things that I’m told will help my mood and overstimulation. I just find myself getting annoyed or stressed so easily
