@jonnie.tattoo: I’ve been feeling very grateful lately about where I’m at and how far I’ve come, despite there being much further to go. It feels strange to talk about this on social media, but I’m trying out this new thing where I’m more open. . . . #recovery #recoveryjourney #sobriety
This is awesome stuff! I'll have 5.5 years sober very soon. For me I took the AA route and am very active with service work in the NH AA community. It sounds cheesy but I'm truly a grateful alcoholic. My recovery has opened so many doors, I've met so many amazing people along my recovery journey. So although I wish I never drank because it also dampened my life, I also wouldn't have what I have today or tomorrow if I hadn't had a drinking problem. I've also overcome severe mental illness and so many other crazy things. Really looking forward to my tattoo with you!

almost 6 years here, I've gotten reeeeeeeally comfortable with all my discomforts. I've learned to not be reactive to my hard feelings or my dark thoughts. sobriety doesnt magically make all the hard stuff go away, but it really does allow us to develop the right tools to help get the job of living authentically done.

I was using alcohol to cope with my anxiety, I was starting drinking everyday, I havent drink for like 2 months now, and it feel great actually I had to work other things up for my anxiety but I decided “socially” I can have 1-2 drinks in the future but I need to clean my body

6 months here, love hearing what you said about your tolerance for what you’d put up with and having gratitude. I feel more clear since getting sober, so much more self aware. So much more raw like I’ve been broken wide open. Thanks for being vulnerable 🥲

2 years of no marijuana it delayed my life, I was anxious, i realized in these 2 years that it was a false sense of peace, that things can be enjoyable without it. And my relationships are better, I don’t have to hide anything from anyone anymore, and I don’t feel shame and guilt.
