@gigaqian: Companies are marketing ordinary chatbots and simple API tools as “AI Agents!” It’s an evolving term, so let’s explore the fundamental definition. This way, you will understand what you should be getting. #aiagents #ai #LearnOnTikTok #learnai #gigaqian
all I know is that after using chat gpt claude code deep seek and Kimi 2.6, hands down Kimi 2.6 is a full on AI agent. I'm going to switch claude code VS to kimi vs code as its way cheaper and Kimi is as good if not better.

Claude code is not an AI agent. It can be used to build them. But you have to give it too much input in order for it to be a true agent.

Claude code is agentic if you ask it to deploy agents. 😂

Yes Claude is agentic, it’s capable of designing tailored test, verify and refining the test, analyzing your input to complete task, and reason to advance act.

Do you cover platforms that can build apps?

Your opening is wrong. An AI agent is an autonomous system that uses Large Language Models (LLMs) to plan, execute multi-step tasks, and interact with tools or computing environments based on environmental feedback, rather than just passively answering questions. This is from Anthropic.

I don’t use but by yur definition it must be copilot 🤷🏻♂️

missing one key point, it needs to learn. So 1) has agency (goal) 2) learns in the task and is able to achieve none-deterministic flow 3) Can take action 4) has the ability to learn and self-improve.

I used GPT Sol through my hermes agent the other day and asked it to get tool calling to work correctly for my local models and let me tell you- this thing went BERSERK. summoned sub agents, gathered context regarding the heretic tuned models, set up sub goals and wouldn't accept complete until the local model completed it's 9 tool calling test. I was honestly blown away.

I differentiate them this way:
agents pursue objectives,
copilots follow workflows.

I think it’s close to being an agent but maybe more of a copilot? But then again, Claude code, cursor, et al do collect information from different sources and confirms with you on its task, and further, confirms once the coding task is complete if the changes met expectations, which seems like an agent. I’m going with Claude Code is an agent, but only when run in agent mode.
