we currently contribute 5% to his TSP (under the old retirement system). we are currently debating whether we should transfer that over to a Roth IRA or just keep the tsp until he retires out (in about 6 years)

Tip #2 is what we do. This is the one thing I recommend for SAHM especially with that “fear” of being left to be a single mom without a job. Invest in that retirement during this season! 🔐

Most military families make below the poverty lines. How are they supposed to fund $15,000 in IRA funds? They only make like $52,000 a year. And you can only have 2 VA home loans at a time. This feels like predatory snake oil.
