Makes a lot, and good stuff when it’s wrapped. But it pulls the ground hard. Takes a lot of fertilizer to make a crop with it. Need to hit it with nitrogen after every cut

Something I’ve been told by multiple people it’s possible to cut Sudan with a disc mower, but everyone recommended to me to use them. Mow with conditioners, whether it be a Haybine or discbine to cramp the stocks. I was told it will ruin if it’s on the ground for a week trying to dry without conditioners.

burn down the grass you're no tilling into or the grass will choke the Sudan, bale at forty days or 40 inches or you're baler will struggle. it's very hard to get it dry for dry hay. I baled and wrapped about a 1000 last year. it averaged 10 bales to acre first cut and 6 second cut.

Grew it for years when I was dairy farming, good hay if you can get it dry, it’s hard on ground

I’ve no tilled sorghum into covered ground a few times and have had luck. Very good luck actually. But what I will say is if you don’t crimp it when you cut it your gona have hell with drying time and waste when feeding. Just my 2 cents

It’s hell to get it dry….an if it turns off dry you have to worry bout Prussic acid poison. I would say Millet is better option especially not having a silage option

Waste of time to no till anything into centipede been there done that it will not grow. The sod is too thick and the narrow cut from no till is not enough to allow it to grow. I ve drill Sudan and Triticale. Best thing to do it go ahead and spray centipede with round up and kill it. Only way to get rid of it.

Why not plant something for horses? Seems something the horse ladies like. Only making cow hay is a good way to go broke. Orchard grass is by far the most profitable hay in my area and easiest to sell
