a trade school will never outweigh a college degree 😭💀💀🤣 the amount of benefits and just the work environment alone to me is worth going to college . a trade school you are stuck at one place while someone who has a college degree could easily move around

I went to college for business, accounting to be exact and then I changed my major to cybersecurity. I didn’t finish but now I work in the trades and I make more money than my friends who have degrees

I'll repeat the same word most people are: well-rounded. They're trying to make sure that everyone is learning a little outside their field in areas like English, humanities/social science, and the natural sciences.
It broadens your worldview and helps make you a learned citizen rather than just a smart workhorse.

My son started in college and dropped out and was making 60,000. Within 3 years he’s now making 85,000 and has a dozen people he’s in charge of. No degree. all on the job training. He also works from home whenever he feels like it?

Hi. I graduated college. I wasn’t forced to take a single one of those classes. 😁

You are not required to take those classes. I took marketing and the only class I was forced to take that wasn’t directly relevant to my program was a study of trauma class. So his entire argument is unfounded and untrue.

It's all about investment at the end of the day. You go to school to invest in yourself, when you leave school you would expect that investment to pay you back more than you spent. That's where the the line is, most students are graduating with degrees that don't provide the income needed to pay for the very degree they got. hence the degree was not worth the money...

bro what is he talking about?? all of those classes would be electives unless you are literally in a major for those types of subjects. there are usually specific elective groups where you have to take certain kinds of electives but in those groups there are dozens of elective choices. you would never be forced to take those classes specifically.

6 week class? Try 4-5 year apprenticeship. Comes with guaranteed insurance, pension, and contract raises.

You can choose your electives. If your college forced you to take specific courses that’s the school.

Saying college is a scam because you take some basic classes that are outside of your major is a nonsequitur argument.

at ASU, WPC makes you take these WPC courses that are not degree related. such as wpc101. it's an introduction to what amenities are available and offered. but yet, you have to take it to meet degree requirements.

I get what the speaker is trying to say but needing credentials is very important for running a business. And running a business pays way more than anyone working their life away in a trade. Im working part time hours making a few hundred an hour just because of college. And guess what, anyone in a trade who doesn’t like working for someone can go to school for like management and branch off to run your own company with the trade you’ve already been doing for probably a few years. But they don’t choose to every time. Im in economics btw.
