@sheetmetalsamurai: How Pipefitters Actually Calculate Offsets (No Chart Needed) Using rise/run, ArcTan, sine, and elbow takeoff to calculate a real pipe offset between two elevations. #pipefitting #welding #sheetmetal #fabrication #usamade
As a Union pipefitter I’ve always been taught that 90s are time and a half pipe size. For instance a 2in 90 has a 3in takeoff. I’m just confused as to how your got your takeoff

I’d worry more about degree slop if there was an extra fitting to the situation like a 45 or so for placement. But a straight piece of pipe with 2 opposite rolled 90’s.. this is uncalled for. Weld both 90’s level and square opposite of each other and just fit both ends afterwards lol.

I would have just welded the 90s on the pipe and priced it in accordingly not all that math

wow talk about the hard way. this is actually the correct way it's they way you would be taught intrade school but there are much easier ways of going about it. you need to be a maths genius to do it that way
