@afterjamieleec: My life is basically the entire plot of just my luck without it becoming lucky in the end. I can't afford to risk converting my pc OS. Otherwise I would. I'm just autistic with a strong sense of justice. #windows #autistic
OneDrive can only "take over" your local files if you accept it. yes it's a sneaky prompt that comes up sometimes but you are not helping yourself with these follow up videos lol

So what I’m seeing here, based on the tower in the first video, is that there are some issues with your machine. It’s not a windows problem, but it’s a your hardware problem. Your motherboard is having issues, if it’s your USB and your Ethernet. If this is the same PC from 10 years ago, there probably aren’t supported drivers for your hardware. As for the DVD drive, it’s probably not getting enough power from your USB ports to run smoothly.

Is windows crap? Yes absolutely, but what you are describing sounds more like a hardware issue, my guess is that it's your motherboard and not windows

Windows is a piece of shit, but you can install any general linux distro, you don't need a steam machine unless you want the specific tv gaming like experience that the machine offers. Give something like Bazzite or Kubuntu a go!

The onedrive thing is an intentional problem that windows made difficult, i do agree there. But being a long term windows user does sort of involve you learning “windows language” and there are some aspects of your user experience not going very well that are partially because of a lack of knowledge on your part but you are correct in that a lot of your issues is just that windows has a lot of bloat and Microsoft as a company has sort of ignored a lot of of the problems that Windows has developed over the last 20 years so it’s complicated.

Windows sucks. Don’t let the people who don’t know any other OS tell you differently. Mac is getting to the point where there will be the same issues. Legit tech sucks now because it’s a money grab

Most of that are driver issues, try and get all drivers directly from the brands that made the part that's having issues. Regarding the OneDrive thing, you clicked without reading the pop up when it came up. It is user error and yeah, Windows is way shittier now than it used to, try using Linux instead, I promise it will be way better

it you dont mind switching operating system and you want to stay on windows get tiny11. I tried linux but I had incompatible applications. it has all the windows features minus the bloat and one drive. only caveat is you have to download a browser (super easy through the app store thing and getting a windows key (again easy but you have to use the command console)

Install ubuntu or linux mint, linux has changed alot in the past few years and its gotten so much easier to use them now, some apps might not be available but theres gonna be free alternatives. No to mention your pc wont be bloated to hell and it will run smoother with less ram usage

I will say that I agree with the commenter saying it is likely a motherboard problem. Your feelings towards windows are very valid. Most people I know in the tec field agree that windows has gone downhill while linux has been getting better

Have you updated your chipset drivers or any of the other motherboard manufacturer drivers?

You said you tried multiple Ethernet cables so that’s ruled out. If the other end is plugged into a working router/switch, your Ethernet port will light up (green/amber) when the PC is powered on. Even if windows doesn’t recognize and configure it, the lights still come on. Basically lights on equals windows driver issue, lights off equals hardware issue.

it really seems like a motherboard problem at this point. or if it is an old windows install or if you moved the windows drive from an old pc to a new one.
