And it's not even the fact that no one ever dies, you never even see the nation or characters suffer lasting impacts 😭 How do you expect me to care about anything when there's just gonna be a black screen at the end telling me "Yeah and then everyone was fine and they rebuilt the city and it was all back to normal after a week." At least Liyue showed us parts of the rebuilding process with the jade chamber quest. The new quest has so much potential but I've lost all hope at this point

This is why I just read summaries and watch clips on tiktok. I still like genshin but I’m not going to force myself to ‘endure’ a horrible paced story. I still get enjoyment from the narrative, even more than I would if I just slogged through repetitive dialogue.

U don’t need a character to die to establish stakes in a story for example the next patch the irminsul will burn this could be fatal since we know memories of everything that happened and everything that is going to happen is in the irminsul, the stakes may not be applied to the character but its applied for the world
