if you’re a spicy margarita fan, you’re going to want to try this jalapeño basil version... it's bright, refreshing, and officially my drink of the summer ☀️🌶️🌿 SAVE this one for your next summer happy hour! jalapeño simple syrup: • 1 cup water • 1 cup sugar • 2 jalapeños, sliced • 2 cups packed basil leaves add water, sugar, and jalapeños to a saucepan. bring to a simmer and stir until the sugar dissolves. remove from heat, add basil leaves, and let steep for 30 minutes. strain and refrigerate. for one margarita: • 2 oz tequila blanco • 1 oz fresh lime juice • ¾ oz jalapeño basil simple syrup • splash of Cointreau • basil leaf, for garnish • jalapeño slices, for garnish add tequila, lime juice, simple syrup, Cointreau and ice to a cocktail shaker and shake until well chilled.
