If I may offer one single unsolicited piece of advice: a very long cord for phones. The outlets are NEVER conveniently placed!!!

L&D nurse here! Your own towel, hospital towels are tiny, scratchy and have been used for lots more than showers 😬 I also recommend your own pillow because hospital pillows are plastic and flat.

Chapstick! Idk if that’s in your bag but biggest recommendation is always chapstick & long charger.

Please make some “padscicles” unless you are having a C-section. Will make you much more comfortable. ❤️

I wouldnt worry about baby nail trimmers... baby's nails are thin and bendy for first couple weeks. I would add a peri bottle, pads, and breast pads and ice packs

My prenatal class told me to bring a roll of toilet paper cuz the hospital stuff is thin and rough and won’t feel good down there after birth!

Bring your own shampoo and conditioner. That first shower will feel like magic but hospital shampoo is the worst!

a roll of the super plush toilet paper. it was THE most appreciated thing that my husband added to my bag when I had my baby... especially since you are healing and the hospital tp is not great

best tip is to bring snacks for the nurses with you. most of them have a sweet tooth and they will check your room more often. just to score some extra snacks 😂

Use baby wipes to wipe yourself when use the bathroom, they are better than the rough toilet paper after delivery.

There is a special squeeze bottle they will use/give you. Take. It. Home. You will be so thankful to have it in the first couple weeks.

So the hospital will provide basically disposable mesh undies and super pads. After I got home I ended up using the Always discreet adult diapers and I really cannot recommend it enough. It was life changing. This time around I’m bringing them to the hospital with me!

Take home ALL the diapers and wipes and baby things they give you in the hospital and ask the nurses for more. They will load you up. And ask them for formula too just in case ✌️

I HIGHLY recommend a journal for him to write down his thoughts, feeling, visitors and what's going on like when the nurses/Dr's come in and cliff notes of what they say. My husband wrote in one when we had our kiddos and I love reading it over and over again getting a glimpse of just how special the moment was for him too.
