Gone today, back tomorrow? 👀🇸🇬 With OldTown White Coffee closing its last Singapore outlet at Kallang Wave Mall on 11 October 2026, we decided to look back at five familiar businesses that were given a second chance in Singapore! From nostalgic fast food chains to shopping favourites, here are five businesses that made a comeback (or managed to avoid saying goodbye altogether)! 🍻 1. Punggol East Container Park The popular waterfront dining spot was originally set to close on 31 October 2026, but its tenants were offered lease extensions of up to another year! Looks like Punggol’s container park isn’t packing up just yet. 🍔 2. A&W Remember A&W’s iconic root beer floats and curly fries? The American fast food chain left Singapore in 2003, only to make a highly anticipated comeback 16 years later in 2019, opening at Jewel Changi Airport. And yes, Singaporeans queued for hours! 💄 3. Sa Sa The popular beauty and cosmetics retailer shut all 22 Singapore stores in 2019, leaving beauty lovers without their familiar shopping haunt. But four years later, Sa Sa returned in December 2023, opening a new outlet at Jurong Point! 💊 4. Holland & Barrett The British health and wellness retailer closed all 12 of its Singapore stores in March 2025, seemingly marking the end of its run here. But the goodbye wasn’t permanent! Holland & Barrett made a comeback in 2026, with its vitamins, supplements and health products returning to Singapore through selected Guardian outlets and online. 🍰 5. Lady M The luxury cake boutique, famous for its signature mille crêpes, closed all its Singapore outlets in January 2026 following the end of its licensing arrangement. Thankfully, the goodbye didn’t last long! Lady M returned to Singapore in April 2026 with a new outlet at Jewel Changi Airport. So while OldTown White Coffee has officially bid Singapore farewell (for now), these five businesses show that sometimes, goodbye doesn’t have to mean forever. 🥹 Which closed-down business in Singapore deserves a comeback next? Let us know! 👇 #8dayssg #8dayssgtrending #SingaporeNews #SingaporeNostalgia #SingaporeBusinesses
