Will my skin flare up again if I stop using azelaic acid cream? I developed facial eczema after stopping an over-the-counter cream that had caused dark circles under my eyes and darkening on my cheeks. For the past two years, CeraVe Itch Relief Moisturizing Lotion kept my eczema under control, but it has flared up again over the last two weeks despite me still using it. I've also tried goat milk soap and an oats-and-honey soap without improvement. I'm considering azelaic acid cream, but I'm worried that if I stop using it, the eczema will return. I'm also concerned about whether long-term use could thin my skin or cause dark circles or darkening of my cheeks.
