washing someone's hair can be incredibly intimate but there is a lot of trust into the process. doing that with a worker that you don't know the type of hair or even products that they use, can be quite dangerous

my partner wanted to was my hair a few times. and he wanted me to wash his. I did. we got a good laugh him washing my curly hair. it was just his way of getting to be in the shower with me.🤣

I have 3 chronic illnesses so my partner has washed my hair for me many times during a flareup and recovering from surgery. I’d definitely say it’s more of a non sexual intimacy thing

Hubby has a few times over the years in both an intimate way, was very sweet but also had him and mum both, and more recently a midwife wash my hair when I’ve been in hospital. Had a bad accident and all I wanted was a shower but had to be helped so mum washed me and my hair and hubby did it too the next time (was doing every second day whilst I was in hospital. More recently when I had a c section I wasn’t expecting to give birth that day, and baby decided to make an early entrance so rushed into a c section. I then sweat all through the night in recovery, I was due to wash my hair that day too. I felt sooooo gross the next day, covered in yuck from waters breaking and my c section and post c section bleeding, stunk as I’d been sweating profusely overnight due to the massive hormone drop and high temp in the maternity ward and my hair was overdue for a wash ontop of that anyway. Was the best shower I had in my life it felt sooooo nice to scrub myself clean (was sitting on a chair in the shower in our ensuite in the hospital room). I went to try and wash my own hair, and the midwife came in and said here I’ll do it for yoh so your not stretching your incision. My hubby would have done it but she just jumped in. It was amazing, double shampooed it and then conditioned and towel dried it and brushed it for me. I can’t tell you how good it felt to go from feeling absolutely gross and like a gremlin to squeaky clean and had someone scrub your hair for you. It sounds weird but it was just so nice. And it felt great after going from gremlin to glamour (well clean hair, clean body, brushed teeth and a touch of make up and some comfy but nice leggings and top so I felt comfy but put together for visitors. Dunno it’s nice to have someone do it both for practical reasons and also for intimate reasons where a partner does it in a kind, caring way!
