Yesterday was such a long day.. between our appointments and a surprise ER visit. We finally got back to our Ronald McDonald room late last night and pretty much went straight to bed. I was explaining to my sister last night, that the days after appointments are always the hardest.. I had so much built up emotions and now I feel drained. It’s been months of preparation to get here.. so much stress and anxiety trying to get every detail put in place and now it’s over. Which is a weight off my shoulders but it has taken everything out of me emotionally. The appointments went really well, the CranioFacial Team here at Vanderbilt were nothing short of amazing. They sat down with us for over an hour, and explained things to us that have never been talked about. They showed us all of Raedyn’s scans and explained the work that has been done this far. They were both extremely knowledgeable and reassured me that they would have done things the exact same way that our current team in Denver has done. Something that Dr Fearon/Sacco did not do in Texas. They reiterated how severe Raedyn’s case is and how it’s not just a simple clear cut fix, unfortunately. That’s the hardest part for me, we came to Nashville because I have seen children with the same condition as Raedyn, and they have walked out with beautifully round heads, and their eyes look great, and the surgeries are successful. That’s just not the case for Raedyn and at the moment it’s not going to be in his future. We are headed home today! I’m in the process of cleaning our Ronald McDonald room so we can head to the airport! Once we get home I will update ALL the details about the plan 💜 For now just know, Raedyn is still kicking ass and being incredible as always! We have lots of praying to do and choice making about our next steps! But we know we aren’t alone, we have made it this far because of yall! So thank you! God bless you ascontinue to support us via link in bio 🙏 Every bit counts ❤️
