We believed for FULL healing. We prayed for restoration. A whole new brain. We declared life over him again and again. We almost lost him multiple times. Until one day it truly was his last breath here on this side of Heaven. SUDEP. Sudden unexpected death in epilepsy took my son quietly in his sleep. And even though Luke’s story didn’t unfold the way I thought it would… Even though the miracle didn’t look the way I prayed for… I’ve decided.. God is still good. Even when it hurts. God was good then… He was good during the NICU. He was good during the seizures. He was good in the unknown. He was good in the heartache and still is. He was good through all the diagnoses, brain injury, congenital brain malformation, microcephaly, spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy, dystonia, muscle tone disorders, seizure disorders, G-tube dependence, failure to thrive, and more. And He is still good now. Luke’s life mattered and still does. Every second of his life carried purpose. God didn’t fail me. Even in this, I may not understand. I may wrestle with the “why” for the rest of my life… But I know this, God was with us in every moment. He’s never left. He never forsook us. Luke’s testimony didn’t end how I thought it would… But it is still powerful. His testimony will continue on as long as I’m alive. And I’m still believing for healing miracles, maybe not for Luke but for all the babies and people just like my Luke. ✝️ #specialneeds #grief
