I met him sheltering from the rain in a doorway on a Brighton street once and really embarrassed myself. I was all “i know you, you’re in a band right?” Gary “yes”. Me “is it a cover band in the west London area?” Gary “No I’m Gary Moore” 😮 . It’s not like I didn’t know who Gary feckin Moore was it was more like my brain couldn’t handle the notion of such a legend doing something really normal. I apologised profusely and shook his hand and walked off. Luckily he laughed.
