This vehicle helps move aircraft out of the parking area toward the taxiway before takeoff, or transfer aircraft to the hangar without using the aircraft’s main engines. Aircraft tugs are built with very powerful engines because they must be able to move aircraft weighing tens to hundreds of tons. These vehicles are usually connected to the aircraft’s nose gear using a towbar or a more modern towbarless system.
