I was in senior English that morning when someone knocked on door and said what happened. On way home all radio stations stopped music even AM radio. They just talked and covered news all day night

I always think of The Real World Chicago's Aneesa on 9/11 bc it's also her birthday. that episode sticks with me in terms of reality TV shows breaking the news to them.

I was in Vancouver as a child with my dad for vacation. We are staying in this camp ground that had no tv but we went to the mainland to call my mom since they were recently separated and my mom wanted us to check in every couple of days. my mom told my dad what was happening and he thought she was creating a story to try to ruin our vacations. it wasnt until we went in the grocery that the paidphone was beside, that we saw on the TVs that proved my mom wasn't lying. we were stuck in Vancouver for an extra 2 weeks before taking a train back to Toronto and then taking another train from Toronto to Montreal. I was 5 yrs old and did not understand what was happening except it was the first time for me taking a train that long and made friends with all the other kids on that train to go back home.

the show that hit me hardest was 3rd watch when they showed the lined up fireman, EMS, PD, port authority officers all standing there paying tribute. a few of them being friends and classmates parents.

I recently learned my dad would've been working in the trade center if not for the company he was supposed to work for going out of business. I know its not as big compared to what happened on 9/11 but it's crazy to think my brother and me would've probably never been born
