The USA is right & wrong at the same time. Every State & even some major Cities charge local taxes on income as well as Federal taxes, so there is no "one figure" for take home pay in the USA. For example ยฃ100k ($132,290) in New York would be ยฃ69,900 take home vs Austin, Texas at ยฃ75,708
