As a British person on a green card….everything cost more….everything! Any increase in salary you think you’ll get here is eaten up by that. There is more access to credit though.

I heard it’s very uncommon for jobs to offer 28-30 days paid holiday, I heard you’ll be lucky if you get 12 days paid holiday by year

I think the UK has a better quality of life than the US but the US does have higher salaries and in some parts better weather.

Depends on what factors you’re weighing up. Access to and affordability of healthcare and education is better in the UK. Quality of food produce is also better

I’m from the UK. I have lived in the US for many years. So many opportunities here to make money. Work in the US and retire in the UK

Everyone keeps saying you have so much opportunities to make more money but never even mention what sort of opportunities those are. I don’t doubt that opportunities may abound but no one says more than just “you have more opportunity to make more money” 😏

Most jobs in Miami are also very low paid in comparison to the cost of living when compared to other cities in the US.

US you get less holidays and also you can be fired at will. So the salary has to be higher to compensate. Also the dollar is a weaker currency than pound, internationally you have lower purchasing power.

it's cheaper in the UK and you can work less :) I moved to Glasgow, and now I work part time and I'm left with the same amount of £ per month

This is an individual choice and depends on what is important to you. If you love heat and blue sky and have a good job with health insurance and care little for the political situation then sure, the US can be a good place. If you love history, castles, cathedral’s, coffee shops everywhere, food that won’t rot your stomach, the Europe can be a great place if you have money.

As somebody in the US that is true, the salaries are higher, but you hardly get any paid holiday throughout the year, you get maybe 6 to 12 days max throughout the whole year. We also have to pay so much for our health insurance, which btw hardly covers anything (mental health also is not included in our health insurance) so you have to consider paying upfront as well, as the insurance hardly covers anything, which mean we are paying thousands upfront as well as paying for our health insurance. There is also hardly any workers rights or protection in the US, the company basically owns you, and there’s no such thing as a governmental right for paid maternity leave, as soon as you’ve given birth they want you back into work within the first seven days even though the woman is bleeding or in severe pain, and if you don’t go into work, they will instantly fire you, so you either go to work instantly or they will fire you, because as I’ve said previously we have little to no workers right. And keep in mind what I’ve mentioned isn’t even 1%, there is so much more things I haven’t mentioned. So please don’t be fooled by “we have higher salaries”.
